The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is the first Zelda game made specifically for Wii and the latest installation in Shigeru Miyamoto's long-running Legend of Zelda series. Skyward Sword is an action-RPG that requires the motionPlus accessory to take full advantage of the motion sensing abilities for more accurate smoother swordplay, that will allow you to actually swing your sword at various angles. The menu system has also been completely revamped so you no longer have to stop the action to dig through your stuff. Link has a variety of new tools at his disposal, such as a magical remote controlled beetle who can be sent around the area to gather items otherwise impossible to reach. There is also the addition of a whip, that can fly out to collect rupees, slice grass, flatten bats or knock out groups of enemies in one swipe. As well as the new tools, familiar favourites are back, like the slingshot and the bomb, that can now be rolled like a bowling ball along the ground in addition to being flung.
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword will offer a multitude of new game-play mechanics, giving it a refreshingly different feel from all of the past titles in the series. Overall the game looks brighter and more colorful than Twilight Princess with big, whimsical set pieces like giant mushrooms. If you've been waiting for a game where the Wii remote is the sword, this game is it!
